Time

Welcome to my new blog.

As a new year rolls into view, I decided I wanted to start documenting my musings on life’s journey.  Chronicling the big and small adventures as we can’t wait for life not to be hard to be happy.   This blog will be a smattering of things relevant in my life as the clock rolls forward never looking back; always ticking towards the next moment we can claim as our own.

Time.  What I call the universal equalizer.  We all have the same number of hours, minutes and seconds in every day, week, month and year.  It doesn’t matter how rich, poor, successful, beautiful or smart you are.  It doesn’t matter what colour your skin is, what country you came from or what gender you identify as.  No one gets more or less time than someone else in a day.  Period.  We cannot make more of it.  We cannot get it back once it’s gone.  We cannot save it for later.  All we can do it spend it wisely because we never really know how much we have left. 

All of this drives the importance of time.  You cannot hold time in your hands.  Time is not something tangible that you can grasp onto but the importance of time far exceeds monetary value.

Because time is so valuable we mustn’t waste it.  We must never under value it.  It is our most prized possession and we must give our time to those we love and spend our time doing things that bring us joy.

 

As the adage goes, “Time Flies”, and the older you get the faster it goes!  Time is the past and also the future but the only time we really have is the present.  Right now.  This is the moment to smile at a stranger, to offer an apology, to lend a helping hand or to hold space with someone you love.  Time is fleeting, but it also binds us together.  This era will tie this generation together.  It will give a collective experience that forms the connection of time to those that have lived through the same world events.

 

Nothing escapes time.  Every living thing on Earth ages over time.  No matter what we do, time will surely still pass.  So don’t let time get away on you.  Do the things that feed your joy.  Spend time with those that matter and know that time is your most precious commodity.

Own this moment because we never get this moment back.  We never get another moment like now.
